Vijender Singh Beniwal (born 29 October 1985), better known as Vijender Singh is an Indian professional boxer and the current WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight Champion and WBO Oriental Super Middleweight Champion from Kaluwas, Bhiwani district in Haryana.Vijender Singh is Indian first boxer to won a medal at the Olympics.

Coming from a poor family Vijender Singh did a lot of hard work to get success . Vijender Singh father had to do extra work for sending hi child to school .
During his childhood he was quite interested in boxing and from there it started.
He
started practising at the famous Bhiwani Boxing Club and in 1997 won a
silver medal at a national level sub junior tournament and three years
later won the gold medal at the Nationals.

- In 2006 Vijender Singh was awarded a Bronze Medal in Asian Games for Bringing boxing popular in India.
- Vijender Singh was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2009. It is the highest sporting honour given by the Union of India.
- In 2010, Vijender Singh was awarded the Padma Shri.
